At Elanco, we provide those who raise and care for animals with solutions that empower them to advance a vision of food and companionship enriching life.

We understand the powerful role healthy animals play in making lives better. As pets increasingly become important parts of our families, so too does the need to help them live longer, healthier, higher-quality lives. We believe that vaccines play a big part of keeping pets healthy, and it is easy to see how our oral and low volume options complement the Fear Free initiative by reducing the number of vaccines given to pets, allowing for a more comfortable vaccine experience.

TruCan B (Oral), the first oral Bordetella vaccine on the market and the first and only portfolio of highly purified 1/2mL vaccines for dogs and cats, TruCan Ultra and TruFel Ultra, enable you to provide an elevated vaccine experience. Talk to your Elanco representative to learn more about how Elanco vaccines can be part of the Fear Free experience in your practice.

Category: Diabetic Care

As a global leader in animal health Elanco is committed to innovating and delivering products to prevent and treat disease. A feline diabetes diagnosis can be scary for many pet owners especially when they hear they may need to give their cats a shot up to two times per day. Elanco is proud to bring an alternative to treating feline diabetes, Bexacat™ (bexagliflozin tablets), the FIRST and ONLY non-insulin oral treatment specifically designed for feline diabetes in otherwise healthy cats not previously treated with insulin. Talk to your Elanco sales rep to learn more about the new Fear Free feline diabetes drug and take a deeper dive into feline diabetes by visiting bexacatvet.com for more information.

Important Safety Information:
Before using this product, it is important to read the entire product insert, including the boxed warning. See
package insert for full prescribing information. Cats treated with Bexacat may be at an increased risk of diabetic ketoacidosis or euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis, both of which may result in death. Development of these conditions should be treated promptly, including insulin administration and discontinuation of Bexacat. Do not use Bexacat in cats with diabetes mellitus who have previously been treated with insulin, who are receiving insulin, or in cats with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. The use of Bexacat in cats with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, or the withdrawal of insulin and initiation of Bexacat, is associated with an increased risk of diabetic ketoacidosis or euglycemic diabeticketoacidosis and death. Sudden onset of hyporexia/anorexia, lethargy, dehydration, diarrhea that is unresponsive to conventional therapy, or weight loss in cats receiving Bexacat should prompt immediate discontinuation of Bexacat and assessment for diabetic ketoacidosis, regardless of blood glucose level. Bexacat should not be initiated in cats with pancreatitis, anorexia, dehydration, or lethargy at the time of diagnosis of diabetes mellitus, as it may indicate the presence of other concurrent disease and increase the risk of diabetic ketoacidosis. Due to risk of severe adverse reactions, do not use Bexacat in cats with evidence of hepatic disease or reduced renal function. Consult a physician in case of accidental ingestion by humans.

Virox Animal Health is the maker of RescueTM, a patented disinfectant technology powered by Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide® (AHP). Designed specifically for companion animal facilities, AHP® is unique in its ability to kill deadly pathogens, such as canine parvovirus, in half the time of legacy or traditional disinfectants, helping to keep patients safer during a veterinary visit. But it’s not just the killing power of AHP® that makes it the perfect fit for Fear Free. Because it’s so gentle on patients, users and the environment, AHP® is much safer for pets. AHP has no added fragrances, so all that’s left behind after cleaning and disinfection is the smell of clean—which is no smell at all! AHP has no harsh chemical odors to trigger fear, anxiety, and stress in a pet during a veterinary visit, helping to create the ideal environment for both patients and clients. It’s these benefits that make AHP® the Deliberately DifferentTM choice for infection prevention and biosecurity in your veterinary practice.

Strategic Alliances

Fear Free is proud to be aligned with leaders at the forefront of veterinary industry. Strategic alliances with the organizations below have proven to be a win-win for our alliances, Fear Free and the veterinary community.

dvm360® is the leading publication for veterinary professionals, delivering relevant, real-world coverage of the industry while meeting the everyday clinical needs of small-animal and equine veterinarians. dvm360 is the veterinary profession’s number one print resource for news, product information, tools, and veterinary practice solutions. The International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM) is the leading forum and educational resource for veterinary professionals interested in animal pain prevention, management, and treatment. Secondarily, IVAPM educates and informs pet owners about their pets’ health and wellbeing when it comes to pain management, be it acute or chronic pain.

Animal pain management continues to be a rapidly expanding field as research findings and clinical experience continue to evolve. As treatment options grow, IVAPM seeks to combine the traditional and medicinal modalities of pain management with complementary treatments such as acupuncture, rehabilitation, and physical therapy. As such, combining various pain management therapies allows for the best possible outcome for the animal.

Morris Animal Foundation is a nonprofit organization that invests in science to advance animal health. The foundation is a global leader in funding scientific studies for companion animals, horses, and wildlife. Since its founding in 1948, Morris Animal Foundation has invested in studies that have led to significant breakthroughs in diagnostics, treatments, prevention, and cures to benefit animals worldwide.

Morris Animal Foundation’s Golden Retriever Lifetime Study is a groundbreaking effort to better understand cancer and other diseases in dogs. It is the largest and longest observational study ever undertaken in the United States to improve the health of dogs. This study will identify genetic, nutritional, and environmental risk factors for cancer and other major diseases that affect all dogs. The Golden Retriever Lifetime Study supports the Fear Free initiative in order to provide better veterinary care for all companion animals and strengthen the bond between clients and veterinarians.

The North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) is a nonprofit organization on a mission to provide world-class continuing professional development for the global veterinary healthcare community. Together as one veterinary community, we are striving to elevate the quality of animal medical care throughout the world.

The NAVC comprises the annual VMX conference, hosting 16,000 attendees and 350 speakers from more than 80 countries in Orlando, Florida, each year; the NAVC Institute, providing cutting-edge advanced modules in a multi-day immersion; VetFolio.com (in partnership with AAHA), an online CE learning platform; and Today’s Veterinary Practice and Today’s Veterinary Technician, the NAVC’s official, peer-reviewed journals.

The NAVC is a proud supporter of Fear Free because by reducing or removing the stresses sometimes associated with animal health, we can eliminate barriers to providing animals the very best care possible.

The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) was formed in East Lansing, Michigan, in 1981 with the goal of allowing veterinary technicians to give input on national issues involving the veterinary profession. Since then, NAVTA has grown and seen many successes, including the declaration of National Veterinary Technician Week, the formation of the Committee on Veterinary Technician Specialties, the development of a scholarship program, and much more.

NAVTA is committed to providing education and opportunities to our members to help in advancing them professionally and in their careers. The Fear Free initiative will be successful in helping the pets that we see daily only if it is adapted in our practices, and the veterinary technicians in these practices have the capability and willingness to make those changes happen. By educating the technicians, we will destress our patients, our clients, and our veterinary hospital teams for better care and compliance overall.

In 1968, the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) created what would soon become Winn Feline Foundation, establishing a source of funding for medical studies to improve cat health and welfare.

A 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, the New Jersey-based foundation was named in honor of CFA’s longtime attorney and advisor, Robert H. Winn. CFA continues to actively support the Foundation and remains dedicated to Winn’s original vision — to promote the health and welfare of all cats by developing or participating in projects for their betterment, including the funding of research and education.

To date, Winn has funded over $6.4 million in health research for cats at more than 30 partner institutions worldwide. Our work is only made possible with the support of dedicated donors. Just as Winn has grown, so has feline medicine. Cats are no longer viewed as small dogs; they are now a major veterinary specialty. Today, cat owners expect and receive state-of-the-art medical care. They assume their cats will benefit from similar technological advances made in human medicine — and with increasing frequency, they do.

Winn’s commitment to feline health research and education has played a significant role in these achievements and will continue to do so in the years ahead.

The World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) aims to advance the health and welfare of companion animals worldwide by creating an educated, committed, and collaborative global community of veterinary peers. It currently represents more than 200,000 veterinarians through 110 member associations. Its annual World Congress brings together globally respected experts to offer cutting-edge thinking on all aspects of companion animal veterinary care.
